Uniondale Community Council, Inc.

Uniondale Community Council, Inc., serves the community by identifying community issues and to making a difference wherever possible to reach positive, quality outcomes. Their goal is to help every youth in Uniondale to grow up in an atmosphere which nourishes their favorable development, where every senior citizen feels secure, where every homeowner feels certain they made a wise decision to live here, and where every business person benefits from a thriving, prosperous community.

Their regularly scheduled monthly public meetings provide valuable information and sometimes serve as a "call-for-action" for important issues and events. The organization is a founding member and partner of the Uniondale Violence Intervention Partnership (UVIP) and a partner in the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative.

As the current lead agency and steering committee member of the Uniondale-Roosevelt Weed and Seed which sponsors a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) center, they collaborate with Town, County, and State agencies in the assessment and enhancement of life in the area. Under its Youth Project service arm, the organization provides community service opportunities, employment, mentoring and leadership for youth.

The group collaborates with law enforcement agencies and the school district to assist in crisis intervention, referrals for individuals and families and individualized projects. The organization has been the incubator for new service bodies such as STRONG Youth, Inc. and Energetic Enterprise Youth Community Studio, Inc. (EEYCS).
